JAKARTA, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- Shipment of Indonesia’s non-oil and gas products overseas has been forecast to edge up by the end is year, albeit global economic uncertainty erodes demand and prices.

Indonesian Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita said here on Monday that he expected non-oil and gas exports to grow 8 percent to reach 175 billion U.S. dollars this year, compared to 162.65 billion dollars last year.

To reach the export target, Enggartiasto said that the government would apply various strategies, including diversification of products, focusing on processed products, improving import management, establishing trade deals with other potential countries, expanding export to non-traditional markets, intensifying promotion and creating favorable trade environment.

Industries of furniture and wooden products, food and beverage, textile, automotive, electronic and chemistry products are being prioritized in efforts to boost the country’s exports, he cited.
