GAZA, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Two Palestinians were killed on Saturday by Israeli army fire in the Gaza Strip, according to Palestinian medical sources.
Medical sources at Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City told Xinhua that the hospital's emergency room received the body of a Palestinian man killed when an Israeli drone dropped a bomb on him in the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
Another Palestinian was killed by Israeli drone fire in the Khan Younis area in southern Gaza, according to medical sources at Nasser Hospital in Gaza City.
Meanwhile, Palestinian security sources and eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli army shelled eastern Khan Younis, and carried out demolition operations on homes and buildings east of Gaza City.
There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on these incidents.
Gaza's health authorities said on Saturday that 612 Palestinians have been killed and 1,640 others wounded by Israeli army fire since a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel came into effect on Oct. 10, 2025.
The authorities said the total number of Palestinian fatalities since Oct. 7, 2023, has risen to 72,070, with 171,738 wounded. ■
